Ronnie Musselwhite, the editor of Golf Business Magazine, wrote an interesting piece this month suggesting that in order to reverse their downward trend attracting players, golf course owners ought to consider themselves in the entertainment business, and that "Rule No.1 is that the experience must be fun."  He goes on to suggest that innovative concepts like FlingGolf are key to getting people engaged at these facilities. As Brett Mowbray, the PGA Pro who introduced FlingGolf to the courses at Massanutten Resort in Virginia said, "FlingGolf is about kids, friends and families having a good time on the course."

Major League Lacrosse kicks off its partnership with PlusOne Sports/FlingGolf at All-Star Weekend

Four MLL All-Stars, including Will Manny, will begin the 2016 All-Star Weekend in Fullerton, CA with a round of FlingGolf.

Boston, MA (July 5, 2016)- Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced a partnership with PlusOne Sports, the creator of FlingGolf, in preparation for the 2016 MLL All-Star Game Weekend. Four All-Star players, including Will Manny of the Boston Cannons, Joel White of the Rochester Rattlers, Drew Snider of the Denver Outlaws, and Scott Rodgers of the Ohio Machine will kick off this partnership with an exciting round of FlingGolf before the All-Star Game.

Because FlingGolf can be played right alongside traditional golf, with no changes needed, it brings families and friends together, while introducing younger athletes to the course.  It also allows those people who have left golf for various reasons to return to the course.  To read more about these stories and one golf course's success with FlingGolf, click here or on the picture below:

In early May, Will Manny, the Captain of Major League Lacrosse' Boston Cannons brought some of his teammates to play FlingGolf near Boston on the Friday between wins over the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Rochester Rattlers.  Manny, the MLL scoring leader, has picked up the sport, which crosses over two other sports he plays. "As soon as I picked up the FlingStick, I knew that this sport rocked. I’m able to combine two sports I love – lacrosse and golf – and have a blast out on the golf course", said Manny who is also an avid golfer. "I grab some friends and even if they aren’t big golfers, we still have a great time trying to outdo each other."

On May 21, at Laytonsville Golf Course in Gaithersburg, Maryland, FlingGolf will be featured in the Dude Perfect style All Sports Battle.  For lacrosse players and all around athletes in the DC and Baltimore areas, this is a must attend first of its kind event, featuring FlingGolf and other sports.  Grab some buddies and head on out to Laytonsville. We welcome Australia to the FlingTribe!  With FlingSticks on the way, Lancelin Golf Course (near Perth) will be drawing in new crowds from their famous kitesurfing beaches to chill with a few holes of FlingGolf.  We think that may be as far away as possible from our World Headquarters outside Boston - until we get an order from Antarctica!

PlusOne Sports’ FlingGolf is Official Partner of the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse

            BOSTON—April 4, 2016—PlusOne Sports with its innovative new sport, FlingGolf, and the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse announce today that they have formed a partnership for the 2016 MLL Season.

            FlingGolf — a fun, fast and thrilling hybrid of golf and lacrosse — is played on a golf course, with a golf ball, and is scored similar to golf.  Players use a FlingStick — a lightweight, carbon fiber stick with a high tech cradle for the ball at the end — to launch a regulation golf ball around a golf course, expertly shaping their shots. No modifications to the course are required, and it’s so easy to learn that players can head out to the course in less than a half hour.

Our FlingGolf Europe division is preparing for the first Dutch FlingGolf open, to take place at Golf4All, in Zeewolde Netherlands on April 23.  It'll be a great time for all!

At PlusOne Sports, we are enormously proud and grateful for how far FlingGolf has gone in our first full year.  Our FlingSticks are now on courses in the USA, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, several countries in Europe and most recently New Zealand.  We even got a report of a round being played in Morocco, Africa!  We set out to create nothing less than a killer new sport, and thanks to our pioneering friends and customers in the golf course, lacrosse, and resort worlds, we have done just that.  Players are having fun on golf courses, and those courses are seeing their revenues bump back up to where they should be.
