FlingGolf and Shark Tank: 5 Years of Acceleration and Expansion

It was May 14, 2021, when we appeared on Shark Tank to a national audience, bringing FlingGolf into the living rooms of millions of viewers across the US, and ultimately around the world.

It is hard to overstate the effect that the program had on what was then a sport with a small but growing footprint.  With following airings on CNBC several times a year, Shark Tank still accounts for about 10% of our awareness generation each year. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

So, what has happened to FlingGolf since that fateful day?

World League FlingGolf

Shortly after the airing, we started World League FlingGolf with 2 tournaments in 2022.  WLF now has a 4 stop Pro Series Tour as well as a Regional Series with over a dozen tournaments across the US.  One WLF Tournament each year since 2022 has been aired on ESPN. Our 5th episode, the Lowcountry Open from South Carolina on ESPN will be aired this August.

We created a ranking system for top competitive players and now have 40 Pro players in 3 divisions: Men's Women's and Master's.

We have started a FlingGolf Chapter in the UK and developed the Britain's Cup to showcase a Team USA vs a Team Europe in a Ryder Cup style event.  The third year of the event will be held outside London this August. 

New Swarm has grown as the equipment brand, producing updated FlingStick designs, and recently launching the popular Carbon Flex Ballistick which sold out in record time.  It will be re-released by the beginning of June. (You can get on a list for it via the link above.)

In 2023 we transitioned our equipment logo from the original "flingman" (that remains with the World League FlingGolf) to a new New Swarm Logo expressing the athleticism, fun, competitiveness and camaraderie that the sport and equipment provide. 

New Swarm has just announced a partnership with Speedgolf USA to create a FlingGolf Division for the Speedgolf US Open at the Temecula Creek Inn, (CA) this July.  This partnership helpsfulfill our primary mission: giving our players and courses every opportunity to succeed. 

The "Best Community in Sports" has grown by leaps and bounds and has become the driving force behind the sport's growth. You can witness the support for each other, excitement for the game, and willingness to push the limits on the FlingGolf Players Group page as an example of how a community can drive expansion.

Social proof and scaling: Our social media following has grown by over 30% since the beginning of 2026.  Think about that: 10 years to build 70% and 4 months to build the next 30%. 

Going Global  

Golf Courses played: FlingGolf play on golf courses has gone from 1000 in 2021 to over 3000 played now (See Course Map).  That includes the incredible journey of one of our top Masters Division players, Jonathan Bellingham who journeyed to Scotland to play FlingGolf at St. Andrews . 

Countries: Within the last 5 years, we grew from about a dozen countries played, to now over 40 countries played, showing the player interest and seamlessness with traditional golf that FlingGolf has on golf courses, regardless of location.

Over 30 Air Force Courses that promote FlingGolf to their Airmen and community have FlingSticks available. This includes bases in the US, South Korea, Japan and Germany. Additionally, we boast a very strong military and veteran community of players and honor them in every World League FlingGolf tournament.

Resorts Massanutten Resort (VA) continues to bring in 2000 FlingGolf rounds a year. Welk Resort (CA), Skamania Resort (WA) and now Chee Chan Resort (Thailand), among others are following suit in offering the sport to their guests and bringing more families and friends together on their golf courses. 

It's been a hell of a great ride over the last 5 years and we expect the same and more for our player and course community, the sport and the business over the next 5.  Thanks for being with us and stay tuned for more to come!
