About the Britain's Cup

The Britain's Cup is FlingGolf's flagship international team competition — a Ryder Cup-style match-play showdown pitting the top players from Team USA against the best of Team Europe. Now entering its third year, the tournament has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated events on the FlingGolf calendar, showcasing the game's elite talent and its remarkable growth on both sides of the Atlantic.

  • Dates: Friday, August 28 – Sunday, August 31, 2026
  • Venue: Stockley Park Golf Club, Uxbridge, UK
  • Location: Just outside London, England
  • Format: Match play — Fourball, Foursomes & Individual
  • Teams: 12 players per side (expanded for 2026)
  • Year: 3rd annual Britain's Cup

Created by Paul Barran and FlingGolf UK in collaboration with World League FlingGolf, the Britain's Cup debuted in 2024 as a USA vs. UK contest held in Bournemouth. That inaugural event drew immediate excitement, and in 2025 the field grew to include European players, formally creating Team Europe. For 2026, the competition moves to London for the first time — specifically to Stockley Park Golf Club in Uxbridge — signaling just how far the event has come in just three years.

Team USA enters as the defending champion, having claimed dominant victories in both prior editions. But Team Europe has been closing the gap with each passing year, and the 2026 edition — with rosters expanded to 12 players on each side and a full three-day competition schedule — promises to be the most competitive Britain's Cup yet.

The match-play format includes Fourball and Foursomes pairings (featuring co-ed matches) along with individual singles play, spread across the full three days of competition. It's a stage built for intensity, national pride, and the kind of memorable moments that only team competition can produce.

How Team USA Was Assembled

Earning a spot on Team USA is no small achievement. The 12-player roster is drawn from all three WLF divisions — Men's, Women's, and Masters (55+) — and filled through a transparent, merit-based process that rewards consistent excellence throughout the competitive season.

Automatic Selections

7

Top 5 ranked Men's players · Top ranked Women's player · Top ranked Masters player — all based on final 2025 season standings

Tournament Play-Ins

4

Top finishers (excl. automatic picks) from the Lowcountry Open (Men's, Women's & Masters) and the New Swarm Classic (Men's)

Captain's Selection

1

One player from any division, hand-picked by non-playing captain Shawn Van Lancker ("SVL")

The automatic qualification criteria reward the WLF's most consistent performers — the players who have proven over a full season that they belong among the country's elite. The play-in tournaments inject an element of high-stakes drama, giving deserving players the chance to punch their ticket to London with a standout performance when it matters most. The captain's pick rounds out the roster, giving Team USA captain Shawn Van Lancker the flexibility to add a player whose combination of skill and team dynamic makes them the right fit for international competition.

His ascent to the WLF's automatic qualification threshold is a testament to relentless improvement. Paired with his brother Obediah, the "Harter Brothers" from Missouri have become one of the most exciting storylines in all of competitive FlingGolf.

A veteran of the Britain's Cup having attended as a supporter in 2024 before earning a roster spot in 2025, Obediah knows exactly what it means to play for Team USA. He and Titus are expected to be a formidable doubles pairing at Stockley Park.

Jacob "Hootman" Hooter brings the Texas toughness and five top-five finishes on the WLF Tour to the Britain's Cup, including a dominant win at the 2026 Lowcountry Open. Based in Waco, Texas, Hooter has been a fixture in the upper echelons of the Men's rankings for multiple seasons, leveraging his competitive experience to consistently deliver in high-pressure moments. The Hootman is a respected veteran on Team USA, and his combination of experience and skill makes him one of the team's most reliable performers on the match-play stage.

BH
Britt Hammond
"The Queen"
📍 Duncannon, PA Women's #1 Automatic

The first women's player in WLF history and still one of its most dominant, Britt "The Queen" Hammond from Duncannon, Pennsylvania is a living legend of competitive FlingGolf. With 8 WLF Women's Championship titles, Hammond has defined excellence in the Women's division since day one. A fierce competitor whose nickname was earned the hard way — by winning — Hammond brings both unmatched experience and an unbreakable will to Team USA's lineup. She has been a cornerstone of the Britain's Cup effort in every edition of the tournament.

JH
Jeff Harvey
"Hardcore"
📍 Clarksburg, WV Masters #1 Automatic

Jeff "Hardcore" Harvey of Clarksburg, West Virginia is the top-ranked Masters player in the WLF, a distinction he earned with one of the most remarkable seasons in the division's history. A 7-time Masters Champion, Harvey capped his 2025 run by winning the River City Open — cementing his status as the automatic qualifier for the Masters spot on Team USA. Don't let the division label fool you: Harvey is one of the most complete and dangerous players in the entire WLF field, a competitor who relishes the team format and brings a veteran's composure to every match.

Tournament Play-In Selections (4)

BM
Brett Maginley
"Slim Shaggy"
📍 Rockaway, NJ Men's #11 Play-In · LCO

Brett "Slim Shaggy" Maginley of Rockaway, New Jersey punched his ticket to London by turning in the top Men's performance at the Lowcountry Open, earning the coveted play-in spot among the Men's division players not already automatically qualified. Maginley's play-in victory speaks to the depth of talent in the WLF — earning a Britain's Cup spot requires not just excellence, but the ability to deliver when the stakes are at their highest. Slim Shaggy arrives at the Britain's Cup with momentum, confidence, and something to prove on the international stage.

CC
Carla Christian
"The La La"
📍 Greencastle, PA Women's #3 Play-In · LCO

Carla "The La La" Christian from Greencastle, Pennsylvania has been one of the most consistently excellent Women's players on the WLF circuit, racking up three runner-up finishes in her last five tournaments. 📍 Harrisonburg, VA Masters #2 Play-In · LCO

Michael "Cutter" Alexiou of Harrisonburg, Virginia is a two-time WLF Masters Champion who earned his way onto the 2026 Team USA roster by winning the Masters play-in at the Lowcountry Open. In a deep Masters division filled with accomplished veterans, Alexiou's victory at the LCO was a statement performance — proof that his championship pedigree remains fully intact. As Team USA's second Masters representative, Cutter brings a winning track record and the ability to deliver in clutch moments on the biggest stage the sport offers.

RM
Rob Maclay
"Big Mac"
📍 Louisa, VA Men's #7 Play-In · NSC

Rob "Big Mac" Maclay from Louisa, Virginia secured his spot on Team USA with a standout run at the New Swarm Classic — the final play-in event of the qualification cycle. Winning the top Men's finishing position at the NSC among non-automatically qualified players is one of the most coveted achievements in FlingGolf, as the New Swarm Classic consistently draws a stacked field. Big Mac's performance under the bright lights of that stage signals that he is ready to represent his country at the Britain's Cup and compete with the best in the world.

Captain's Selection (1)

AL
Amy Lewis
"A-10"
📍 Milton, DE Women's #2 Captain's Choice

Amy "A-10" Lewis of Milton, Delaware is a 5-time WLF Women's Champion and one of the most decorated players in the history of the division. Hand-selected by non-playing captain Shawn Van Lancker, Lewis's inclusion is a reflection of her championship caliber and the kind of intangible competitive fire that sets elite match-play performers apart. A veteran of the Britain's Cup who has delivered in critical moments before, Lewis has the experience, the accolades, and the pedigree to be a major factor when Team USA takes the course at Stockley Park. Being named the captain's pick is an honor — and A-10 will be looking to reward that trust with standout performances in London.
