Team UK FlingGolf Roster Finalized for Britain's Cup
June 3, 2024. Bournemouth, England. Teams are set for FlingGolf's first WLF sanctioned international tournament.
Following months of qualifying rounds, the UK FlingGolf Team has signed on its final 6 men and 2 women to compete against Team USA FlingGolf in the inaugural Britain's Cup on June 8 and 9. UK Captain and FlingGolf UK Chapter President Paul "Bulldog" Barran submitted the final roster to World League FlingGolf's Commissioner John Pruellage with just under a week to go until the tournament starts.

"I am excited to be able to captain and compete in such an auspicious event," said Barran. "The Britain's Cup is a great showcase of talent in this amazing new sport. FlingGolf is set to hit these shores and is destined to change the dynamic of the golf course for the better. My players are fired up, we have no fear heading into this David v Goliath battle."
Apart from Captain Barran, who has competed in 2 WLF events (placing 6th in both New England and Treasure Coast Opens) in the states, Team UK is a field of unknowns in the competitive FlingGolf world. They will go up against a virtual Dream Team coming over from the US, including the top 5 Men's and top 2 Women's players, as well as #10 ranked Titus Harter from Missouri who won the play-in spot at WLF's Treasure Coast Open in March.

USA Captain, Austin "Showtime" Ebersole, believes that Team USA will be bringing its best across the Atlantic and is looking forward to the challenge from the Brits.
"I’m very excited for and proud of the team that we are sending across the pond. It’s a group of champions and individuals with tons of top finishes in their respective divisions the past 3 years. And I know that these experiences in high leverage situations will pay dividends this weekend." Ebersole continued, "I’m most excited to toy with the doubles pairings as I believe there’s not a “bad” combination of any two U.S. players. One amazing pairing after another fighting for the stars and stripes."

The Britain's Cup will be a "Ryder Cup" style event, all match play with a total of 16 points. Team USA must win at least 8.5 points to take the cup from the British Team.
