The first stop on the 2023 WLF Tour is sunny San Diego, which will be filmed for broadcast by ESPN. This tournament marks the first WLF event to be held on the west coast and will be a welcome venue in February for most FlingGolfers . The San Diego Open will be held at two different courses: Riverwalk Golf Club for the individual championship and Twin Oaks Golf Course for the team doubles tournament.
There will be a total cash purse of at least $3,500. A cash prize of at least $1,500 will go to the Individual Champion, with additional prizes for Team Doubles Champions and finalists in each event. There will also be a guaranteed prize for the top female in the individual tournament and recognition for the top senior (63+), top junior (13 and under) and top newcomer (best finish from players playing in their first tournament).
The individual tourney features the best FlingGolfers in the country battling it out for the top prize. After an 18-hole preliminary round, the top 5 finishers will play in a 5 hole playoff to decide the winner.
Teams of two FlingGolfers will play alternate shots to see who gets crowned as the best FlingGolf duo.
