Western PA Regional Open to All Levels for a Good Cause
Pennsylvania FlingGolfers and WLF Team Champions Mike "Big Cat" Edwards and Zac "Mountaineer" Mulvey along with Delaney "Wild Child" Lantz have organized a FlingGolf Tournament for August 6 at Pine Hills Golf Course in Greenville, PA.
Every level of FlingGolf player, from novice to WLF Pros will be playing. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Hermitage Rotary Club, specifically going toward getting much needed books in local kids' hands.
These top ranked World League FlingGolf players are attacking the dual objectives of growing the sport in Western Pennsylvania while also raising funds for a great cause. Players of all levels are expected to participate. "We are very excited to extend the WLF Regional Tournament model to Western PA.," commented WLF Commissioner John Pruellage. "We've seen the demand for additional FlingGolf tournaments throughout the country and these Regionals are a great way to introduce the game to communities, support local charities and highlight the skill of regional WLF Pros."
According to Pruellage, Regionals are the next step in the evolution of the WLF and will continue to grow in importance. "We envision successful regional events becoming qualifying events or even national WLF Tour events in the near future"
Although as a Regional WLF Tournament it will not contribute to WLF ranking/championship points, several other top ranked WLF players and teams are coming in from out of state to support the event and grow the game.
According to co-organizer Zac Mulvey, "We've got Mike "Maine Event" DeRusha coming down from Maine, and Austin "Showtime" Ebersole coming up from Delaware. We're excited to attract these two WLF Champions to take part in this inaugural event for us. We'll also have our own Women's WLF Champ, local Krysta "Birdie of Prey" Smith leading up the women's field. It says a lot about the FlingGolf community that players will come from far and wide to compete, have fun and also help grow the game, especially for a good cause."

Mike Edwards chimed in, saying, "We’re super excited to have our first ever tournament! This has been 7 years in the making for me, and until recently I didn’t think this would come to fruition! With the help of Delaney and Zac as well as the amazing FlingGolf community, they have all made this dream possible!"
Zac and Mike will be hosting FlingGolf clinics in the weeks leading up to the tournament for those looking to start or improve on their game. Join the FlingGolf Players Group Page HEREto stay up to date on these clinics.
Delaney Lantz, the tournament Chair believes the tournament will make a difference for the community and hopes that it will continue to become an annual event. "Having just played in my first World League FlingGolf tournament in Delaware, and getting to know more of the growing and enthusiastic FlingGolf community, I am feeling confident already that we are going to have a very successful event that people both local and from a distance will want to come back to every year. Everything is pointing that way."
Early Registration Ends July 7. More details and registration for the August 6 Tournament can be found on the World League FlingGolf Western PA Regional Site.
