Quality Time with Friends, Competitive Time on the Course
You can't golf with one club, can you? That was my first thought when I saw FlingGolf on a newsletter describing it as an all-in-one club that can go from tee-to-green. But what about driving? Fairway shots? Chipping? Bunkers? Putting? FlingGolf truly did do it all as I quickly found out.
My first fling happened with a single foam ball in one of my neighborhood parks. I loaded it into the channel and flung it...straight into the ground 10 yards in front of me. Back and forth I went between flings as I kept flinging it down and down but never out into the air. Then I remembered looking at the video from the founder and thinking "Aim high and let it fly". The next fling changed everything.
Now with just a few months in I can see the competitiveness growing. Drives are getting further, shots are getting closer, and putts are dropping. Golfers reactions to me flinging range from confusion, intrigue, and eagerness to give it one good whip. Not only has the drive to meet others on or around the course continued, it's now one of my favorite activities to do with the ones I truly love being around.
My brother has been my main co-star on the course when we arrive with our FlingSticks and we couldn't have a more entertaining time. We can feel the constant challenge that it takes to master this new game so trying to get further or closer than each other is always on our mind. We welcome the glory of winning or the wound of losing with big smiles on our faces and an ambitious drive to continuously get better. This doesn't happen with only sibling rivalry too.
My girlfriend and close friends have joined me in flinging across Southern California and they continue to impress me with new shots they already start to sink or adapt to quickly. The days start off with "Okay, how do I throw this?" and ends with "You're not beating me next time!".
My main goals in FlingGolf now lie in more competition and more fun moments to be had. When a FlingGolf tournament arises, I'll be there. When I have a new course in mind for liberation, I'll have my FlingStick ready. Now the community is growing and we constantly share tips and stories about our new FlingGolf excursions. I always look forward to meeting more flingers along the way and seeing how I can learn from them or even, what they can learn from me.
