PlusOne Sports, the founder of FlingGolf, will sponsor the Major League Lacrosse All-Star FlingGolf Invitational Tournament in Sacramento July 8, 2017.

The second annual MLL All-Star FlingGolf Invitational will award nearly $2,000 in prizes to MLL players participating in the nine-hole competition. The event will take place on Saturday, July 8 at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, California.

PlusOne Sports/FlingGolf has recognized Woodstone Meadows Golf Course in McGaheysville Virginia as the 2016 FlingGolf Course of the Year. FlingGolf is the energetic new sport now played on hundreds of golf courses across the USA, Canada and internationally. WoodStone Meadows Golf Course is a part of the family-friendly Massanutten Resort.

Alex Van Alen, Founder of PlusOne Sports/FlingGolf, stated, “Brett Mowbray, the PGA Pro and Director for Golf Operations at Massanutten Resort, has developed a program at Woodstone Meadows that has become the example for other courses and resorts to emulate. He has recognized the fun, family-friendly character that FlingGolf brings to golf courses, and has made it easy for new players to enjoy the beauty and challenges of the course. It is a testament to Brett’s vision as well as Massanutten’s dedication to the enjoyment of their guests that they saw over 1600 rounds of FlingGolf played in 2016 and have seen well over 3000 rounds played since first introducing the sport.

 The National Golf Course Owners Association and PlusOne Sports/FlingGolf have formed a partnership to promote the sport of FlingGolf through golf courses and to individual players throughout the United States. "NGCOA is excited to welcome PlusOne Sports/FlingGolf as our newest partner. We look forward to working closely together to drive new young players to fill empty tee times and drive additional revenue to our members through this partnership," said Jay Karen, CEO of the NGCOA.

FlingGolf is played on a golf course, with a golf ball and can be played in the same foursome as golfers. 

It is great to see FlingGolf growing through our partners at Hunting Hawk Golf Course in Glen Allen, Virginia, outside Richmond.  Plenty of lacrosse players there to enjoy that course.  Check out this piece on NBC NEWS 12!

FlingGolf and its parent company PlusOne Sports are proud to welcome Rear Admiral (Ret.) Mark Boensel as the newest member of its growing Advisory Board. Admiral Boensel was introduced to the new sport of FlingGolf in the fall of 2014, and immediately saw its recreational potential for military service members and their families. Recognizing the need to increase the use of golf courses on the nation’s military bases, Boensel identified FlingGolf as the perfect sport to entice new players from the armed services to get out and enjoy those courses.

 “FlingGolf is a natural fit for military personnel who wish to escape the stress of service for a couple of hours and engage in a fun, more athletic alternative to golf.

Ronnie Musselwhite, the editor of Golf Business Magazine, wrote an interesting piece this month suggesting that in order to reverse their downward trend attracting players, golf course owners ought to consider themselves in the entertainment business, and that "Rule No.1 is that the experience must be fun."  He goes on to suggest that innovative concepts like FlingGolf are key to getting people engaged at these facilities. As Brett Mowbray, the PGA Pro who introduced FlingGolf to the courses at Massanutten Resort in Virginia said, "FlingGolf is about kids, friends and families having a good time on the course."

Major League Lacrosse kicks off its partnership with PlusOne Sports/FlingGolf at All-Star Weekend

Four MLL All-Stars, including Will Manny, will begin the 2016 All-Star Weekend in Fullerton, CA with a round of FlingGolf.

Boston, MA (July 5, 2016)- Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced a partnership with PlusOne Sports, the creator of FlingGolf, in preparation for the 2016 MLL All-Star Game Weekend. Four All-Star players, including Will Manny of the Boston Cannons, Joel White of the Rochester Rattlers, Drew Snider of the Denver Outlaws, and Scott Rodgers of the Ohio Machine will kick off this partnership with an exciting round of FlingGolf before the All-Star Game.

In early May, Will Manny, the Captain of Major League Lacrosse' Boston Cannons brought some of his teammates to play FlingGolf near Boston on the Friday between wins over the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Rochester Rattlers.  Manny, the MLL scoring leader, has picked up the sport, which crosses over two other sports he plays. "As soon as I picked up the FlingStick, I knew that this sport rocked. I’m able to combine two sports I love – lacrosse and golf – and have a blast out on the golf course", said Manny who is also an avid golfer. "I grab some friends and even if they aren’t big golfers, we still have a great time trying to outdo each other."
