The WLF tour's next stop was in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley for the Virginia FlingGolf Open on October 22-23, 2022. The tournament was held at two different courses: Heritage Oaks in Harrisonburg and Woodstone Meadows at the Massanutten Resort.
It was a weekend of fun and competition for the top FlingGolf players from across the US. On, Saturday the field competed in the indidivual tournament while on Sunday there were two additional events: a team tournament and a skills challenge.
The individual tourney featured the best FlingGolfers in the country battling it out for the top prize in an 18-hole tournament. Austin "Showtime" Ebersole took the prize with a gross score of 72!
Teams of two FlingGolfers played alternate shots to see who gets crowned as the best FlingGolf duo. Mike Edwards and Zac Mulvery representing Pennsylvania are this year's co-kings.
The skills challenge featured an on- driving range competition that rewarded both power and accuracy.
Austin "Showtime" Ebersole showed us his skill and took the top prize.
Showtime dominated the field in the prelminary round, racking up 13 Reggies en route to a 6 stroke lead heading into the finals (where preliminary round scores carried over). Scantron made it interesting by getting Reggies on each hole in the playoff, including a good look at a birdie on the final hole. Meanwhile, Showtime found sand on the final hole but got out cleanly and made his putt to win the tournament by two strokes over Scantron.
