Inaugural FlingGolf Club Series Begins this Weekend in Delaware

Officially kicking off this weekend, the FlingGolf Club Series is bringing a sense of teamwork back to the competitive FlingGolf scene, starting with the Delaware Titans and West Virginia Highlandeers on June 27th and 28th at the American Classic Golf Club in Lewes, Delaware.

What is the FlingGolf Club Series?

The FlingGolf Club Series is meant to serve as a grassroots, entry level league where players of all skill levels compete alongside one another. Really, the ultimate league where the top players in the sport play side by side with new players and players from all backgrounds and talents.

Even though each Club will be playing for pride (and their event trophy), the end goal of this league is to grow the game by getting new players involved in a team oriented way. The beauty is that it allows family, friends, neighbors and everyone really to be involved in our amazing sport.

Where did the idea of the Club Series come from?

When the news broke that World League FlingGolf was going to take a step back from the teams division, Jonathan Bellingham and I both had a vision and reached out to one another to discuss our thoughts. The crazy thing was that we both had envisioned the same exact thing… A FlingGolf series that is for ALL.

After years of running clinics, leagues, FlingGolf Fridays, and other such events under the Titans and Highlandeers brands, both Jonathan and I wanted to keep their momentum going in both Delaware and West Virginia. Which is amazing when you realize that you can’t go to a single World League FlingGolf Pro Series event and NOT see at least one or two Titans and Highlandeers hats or polos being worn by various players.

Because of this branding, both of us knew that we had to keep our clubs alive, but we didn’t want to stop with just two clubs. After being paired together at the very first New Swarm Classic in 2022, we both agreed that a Pennsylvania based club needed to be added to the mix after we were paired with Zac Mulvey and Mike Edwards there.

After a quick 2 minute call, Zac and Mike were onboard and immediately started to contact other Pennsylvania FlingGolfers, and in no time, they hit the club minimum and officially formed the Keystone Crew.

How will the clubs compete and what is the format of the events?

The Club Series will be an all doubles based league with match play as the format for each of the three events in 2026. The doubles pathway makes this league not about any one individual, but the team as a whole. Which is also why we are going with a match play so that every member of each club has an opportunity to earn points for their team. Saturdays will be a scramble and the Sunday rounds will be four ball where each teammate plays their own ball but they record the better score between each other.

The winning club at the end of the event will be the team with the most points accrued over the weekend. A tie will favor the home team or defending champion once the trophy is won.

How does one start a club / be considered for future expansion in the series?

Short answer, establish a home base at a local golf course and get as many players as you can to play. Once you have 10 FlingGolfers who are willing to travel to an event and help manage local leagues, clinics, etc, to grow the game, you may be considered.

The key here is to remember that its about growing the game and establishing a supportive community locally.

How many events are there?

One of the target goals of this series is to be extremely cost effective and not require people to use time off of work. Because of that, each club has one home event that they host and one event that they must travel to. Since the Saturday event starts in the early evening and the Sunday round starts early in the morning, this allows all players to travel Saturday mornings to the event and then Sunday afternoons home. Clubs will only be asked to travel one time a year.

The best part, the clubs will rotate each year on where they travel to and who they host.

How does that impact future clubs though?

It will simply include them into the rotations. We will never see a Florida based club be asked to play a Pennsylvania club, but we would love to see the states divided up into their own regions so that the mission remains the same with being cost and time effective. Neighboring states of Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia can easily be included and will be most likely as soon as 2027.

What is the 2026 Schedule?

  • West Virginia Highlandeers vs Delaware Titans on June 27th & 28th at the American Classic Golf Club in DE.
  • Delaware Titans vs Keystone Crew on August 1st & 2nd at Whispering Pines GolfCourse in PA.
  • Keystone Crew vs West Virginia Highlandeers on September 12th & 13th at CaponSprings & Farms in WV.

*If no clubs are added for 2027, the site of these 3 matchups will change and the traveling team of the 2026 matchups will actually host their competition the following year. This keeps the travel schedule fresh for all!

Club Series Mission Statement

Our goal is to grow FlingGolf by creating opportunities for local play. To encourage players of all skill levels to dip their toes into the world of competitive FlingGolf alongside their teammates.
